Minneapolis DP Mark Hentges and Mark Mostad (Audio) recently worked on a feature for NBC’s Today Show highlighting the Amphicar, an amphibious vehicle produced in the 60’s that didn’t exactly take over the world but nonetheless has a very dedicated following. It always makes a surreal impression when it drives down a boat landing and into the water!
To help get some great footage for the segment they used our RigMount Magnetic Mounts to attach GoPro cameras around the car to get some groovy angles. They also did something I haven’t heard of anyone doing before, they used them underwater while the car while driving on/in Bryant Lake!!! Another great real-world example of just how powerful and useful these magnetic mounts are. It’s hard to believe that you can have the confidence in a magnet to hold your camera securely to a steel surface but when you actually hold one in your hands and feel it grab onto the metal, doubts quickly disappear. (We will be posting a video soon showing why our RigMount Magnets are much different and superior to the kind of magnets available at hardware stores)
