If you’re ever wondered how to get a 16′ camera slider onto a small island in Ireland, Professor William Donaruma (Notre Dame) has the answer. Constructed from 16′ lengths of 2×4’s and transported by boat, William was able to get some fantastic footage with his Red Epic X in this remote location without traditional support gear. The camera is riding on RigWheels “RailDolly” carriage which allows for use on round as well as square/rectangular materials. Being able to improvise while on a shoot is critical and RigWheels tools like the RailDolly are designed with this in mind. Check out his sample video and these great BTS photos.
A special thanks to Bill for sharing his project and experience with us. Also pictured are ND Archeology Professor Ian Kuijt and Tommy Burke (Inishbofin resident)
