Mag-Tight Curve – Magnetic Window/Windshield Mount

SKU: MTCK Categories: ,

$275

The award-winning Mag-Tight windshield mount has been an exceptional solution for quickly and easily mounting cameras and other accessories inside vehicles.  RigWheels always strives to create new ways of doing things and ORIGINAL products and the Mag-Tight Curve is another first-of-its-kind product. The standard Mag-Tight kit has proven its utility over the past few years in productions all around the world and on many of your favorite automotive-themed shows however, one consideration when using the setup was the inability to use windshield wipers or the need to place the system on a portion of windshield where the wipers would not pass over.

The new Mag-Tight Curve solves this problem with its domed surface which allows the wipers to pass over.   The rest of the system is identical to the original and the new curved magnets are interchangeable with the standard RigMount 100 magnets so customers who already own Mag-Tight kits can upgrade by purchasing two of the new RigMount 100 Curve magnets.

The Mag-Tight Curve kit includes 2 RigMount 100 Curve magnets, 2 standard RigMount 100 magnets, a mini grip-head with a hot-shoe adapter for the top side of the camera and a friction arm for the bottom side of the camera. Price is $275.00 (just $25.00 more than the original version) and is shipping now.   To learn more about the benefits of the Mag-Tight system please watch this video from the original product release.

FINALLY! A windshield mount that doesn’t suck (literally). The MAG-Tight Camera Windshield Mount is the most practical way you’ll find to mount a DSLR-sized camera or other production devices, like transmitters, monitors, and antennas, to a vehicle. With the growing popularity of shooting content inside of cars and the unmistakable front-on two-shot that you see everywhere, The MAG-Tight windshield mount provides an ideal solution by overcoming many challenges that typically arise when using traditional suction or hard-mounting techniques.

IT’S FAST!

There couldn’t be anything faster than snapping a couple of magnets together. Speed is critical for today’s production environments and when you have fast tools you can get more content for your clients.

IT’S RELIABLE.

Forget about pumping your vacuum suction cups! This product was developed for a project where the cameras would be living in vehicles for up to a week at a time. If you’ve worked with suction mounts you know that they will lose power over time and more than that, it’s a thought that sits in your head the entire time you’re using suction which distracts you from the real work at hand. With our rubber-coated magnets, your camera will stay attached all day, all month, all year. This product is designed for HDSLR with compact glass or smaller (it can work for larger but that is at your discretion).

IT’S SOLID.

With suction, you’re using a material that is inherently flexible (rubber) to try to achieve a solid shot. This can introduce a lot of flex and vibrations. The MAG-Tight windshield mount essentially provides you with hard mounting points which yield much better results. All magnets are not created equal. RigMount magnets have stainless steel studs which make them very strong and resistant to corrosion as well as a proprietary rubber casing that we have refined over many years.

IT’S SMALL.

One of the challenges with traditional rigging is the space necessary. In the interior space of a vehicle you need every millimeter you can get to tuck the cameras into the windshield deep enough to 1) stay out of the frame of other cameras and 2) get as far away from the driver/passenger as possible to minimize distortion. The RigMount magnets are about 1/4″ thick and enable tricky placements quickly and easily.

IT’S VERSATILE.

Like all RigWheels products, you can use these components individually for other purposes like mounting cameras and accessories to the exterior body panels of vehicles, railings, vending machines…. There are a lot of metal surfaces in the world! You can also use this same magnet “sandwich” technique through other thin materials like aluminum, stainless steel, fabric, plastic etc…

Nice setup and summary from a user.
